Supercar collides with another after running red light in China
An Audi R8 crashed into a Porsche Cayenne after running a red light, causing 2,000,000 yuan (£230,000) in damage in southern China's Changde city on October 8.
The dramatic CCTV video shows an Audi R8 speeding into a Porsche Cayenne turning a corner at an intersection, causing it to flip over.
Since the four people in the two cars all wore seatbelts, only the three people in the Porsche Cayenne suffered minor scratches.
According to reports, the motorist named Chen drove his new Audi R8 to an internet cafe. Since he saw the traffic light was going to change to yellow, he sped up to try to drive through.
When Chen saw a Porsche Cayenne turning a corner in front of him, he braked his car immediately. But since his car was going too fast and the road was slippery, he smashed into the Porsche.
Chen was blamed for the incident. Police fined and deducted points from his licence.
The estimated loss is around 2,000,000 yuan (£230,000).
The video was provided by local media with permission.
