Natasha Mazzone from the Democratic Alliance (DA) in an interview with journalist Athi Mthongana said farmers in Senekal engaged in criminal activity last week when they protested in the small Free State town at the court appearance of the men accused of killing farm manager Brendin Horner.

Mazzone was at the Cape Town police station to lay charges against Julius Malema and Nazier Paulsen from the EFF (Economic Freedom Fighters) for inciting violence.

Social media was awash last week with violent scenes from Senekal in which it is shown how protesting farmers storm the courthouse and torch a police vehicle in an attempt to gain access to the murder suspects.
