Lions kill wildebeest right in front of our car at Kruger National park
Lions kill wildebeest right in front of our car at Kruger National park.
Watch a Lioness suffocate a Wildebeest as it takes its last breath and falls prey to this well versed pride of Lions.
It was a warm summers evening while I was out on Safari with my guests. We had worked hard all afternoon to track down this pride of Lion. As they stirred from a sleepy slumber we watched as the Lionesses calmly calculated an ambush on a Wildebeest, which turned out to be their dinner!
The Lionesses spread out and slowly crept closer, surrounding the Wildebeest after sunset. The Wildebeest had no idea they were there and suddenly the Lioness to our left began running, then the one to our right! Before we knew it a third had charged in from behind the Wildebeest and all escape routes were gone. The Lions grabbed hold of the the Wildebeest one gripping its throat while the other two latched on where ever they could. It was all to quick and simple for the Lions. Once the Wildebeest toppled over it was a matter of less than 60 seconds and the kicking legs of the Wildebeests slowly dropped to its side. The fight was over, life was gone and the Lions had succeeded tonight!
