At least eight people have died after a house collapsed in India's Hyderabad following a ceaseless two-day downpour across the Telangana state.

Footage from October 14 shows residents wading through waist-high water arm in arm as most of the infrastructure has been destroyed by the waters.

Bridges in the region were destroyed and roads damaged as rivers burst their banks and other flooding connected to render travel futile, while powerlines were brought down, as well as trees.

The flooding and waterlogging hit lowland areas in particular and residents who have not been able to flee the flooding are bracing for more rainfall in the next 24 hours after a deep depression in the Bay of Bengal crossed the coast near Kakinada.

Trees were uprooted and power lines were cut.
