Delivery truck spills 6,000 bottles of beer after skidding on wet road
A delivery truck lost control on a wet road and spilled 6,000 bottles of beer.
The lorry was delivering the alcohol when it swerved to avoid hitting another car during heavy rain in front in Nakhon Pathom, central Thailand yesterday morning (October 14).
Shutters on the side of the lorry flung open and the crates of alcohol tumbled onto the road.
Footage shows how the bottles of Chang beer were strewn across the highway, with many smashing and spilling the alcohol onto the ground.
Traffic was blocked by the pieces of broken glasses and boxes as the police arrived to clear the road.
Police sub-Lieutenant Sukhee Hongwaingchan, the deputy inspector from Nakhon Chai Si district police station, arrived at the scene to investigate the accident.
Truck driver Jakkaphong Mathueng, 37, said he was he had left the warehouse with seven hundred crates, each containing ten bottles. He said only a handful were not damaged.
He said: "There was a pickup truck that veered sharply in front of my truck. I avoided not hitting him before I lost control and spilled hundreds of boxes onto the road.''
