A 13ft-long python was caught after sneaking inside a farmer's coop and eating two expensive geese.

Thanasit Thitiphansophon, 52, found the bloated python coiled in the corner of the poultry animal's enclosure in Ang Thong, central Thailand on October 14.

The farmer was about to feed the chickens and the cattle in the barn when he heard the chickens loudly clucking so he went to have a look.

He found that two of his prized geese were missing until stumbling upon the resting python that had just finished its meal.

Thanasit said he just bought the two goose breeders as he wanted to grow more geese for his cattle farm. They cost 1,000 Baht each (around 25 GBP).

He said: "I am quite upset that the snake killed the two breeders I just bought. I have many chickens, but the snake chose the best geese."

Animal rescuers arrived at the farm after the owner called them for help in evacuating the greedy reptile.

The creature was easily caught by grabbing its head and tail because it was too full from its last meal.

The rescue operation only lasted for ten minutes and the snake was placed inside a sack to be carried away.
