Two Australian Uber riders were fined by police after one of them racially abused their driver after he asked them not to drink in his car.

The clip filmed in Cronulla, a suburb of Sydney, on November 14, 2019, shows the two men in the back of the car attempting to drink their alcohol and refusing to put it in the boot as asked.

The incident turned hostile when the driver, George Michael Gilto, asked them to cancel the ride as he didn't want to be abused.

"I requested them to put their case of alcohol in the boot as it was an unsafe and unsecured load. The gentlemen refused so I requested them to cancel the trip, they racially abused me and call me a 'dirty Arab c*nt'," Gilto explained.

The police were called and and in the clip you can hear them confirming on the same night that two men in the car were fined 550 Australian dollars each.

Michael was born in Cronulla and has Sudanese and Egyptian heritage.
