The flooded River Nile in Obongi district in West Nile Sub-region in Uganda has submerged homes displacing over 60 households of about 190 people from a tiny Namsambia village.
This has cut transport and affected businesses of locals who mainly rely on the river as a source of livelihood and transport using ferry.
Due to the the increased water level of River Nile, Uganda National Roads Authority has suspended operations of the ferry that links Obongi to Adjumani district.
The displaced villagers are now being sheltered without food and clothing at a nearby primary school.
