Heavy rains have caused severe flooding and mudslides in central Vietnam killing at least 64 people with more rainfall expected over the next few days.

This footage, which was filmed on Saturday (October 17th) in Quang Tri, shows torrents of water cascading around an inundated home.

In some places, the floodwaters are still said to be 4-metres deep.

According to eyewitnesses, Heavy rains for many consecutive days created terrifying flash floods. This is considered the historic flood in this area. Some places were flooded up to 4 meters deep.
In the video, floodwaters have entered the house and destroyed the back of the house, and washed away on the riverbank. Floodwaters caused the road to miss. Traffic was cut off.
Floodwaters have killed 40 people, dozens of people missing. Traffic in the central region was paralyzed. Hundreds of thousands of people had to move to high altitudes.
Thousands of houses collapsed, damaged; nearly 150,000 houses, 244 schools were flooded. 137 points National highway, 11,576m of local roads were eroded.
