A man has been arrested in Lyon after trying to disrupt a march dedicated to murdered teacher Samuel Paty.

Thousands attended the rally in Lyon's Bellecour on Sunday (October 18), clapping and signing the Marseillaise. Rallies also took place around France.

Video shows a man in Lyon shouting at protesters. Police quickly apprehend him and put him into a vehicle.

A man named only as Abdoulakh A was shot dead by police on Friday after killing teacher Paty near his school.

Paty was beheaded after showing cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad to his pupils.

At the end of the procession during the homage to Samuel Paty, decapitated professor in France, an individual came to provoke the march advocating that in France there was no freedom of thought or freedom to speak, uttering threats " him against the 8 billion human beings ”. He was quickly arrested by the police. The procession responded to the provocations by singing the Marseillaise, the national anthem.
