Kind truck driver shields motorcycle rider from storms in Vietnam
This is the heartwarming moment a truck driver shielded a rider from strong winds during storms that have killed at least 88 people in Vietnam.
Motorist Thai Manh was driving behind the vehicles when he noticed the kind truck driver extending help to the rider in Hanoi, Vietnam on October 14.
The strong winds could easily blow over the rider and his light motorcycle, so the truck slowly moved forward to block the violent storm.
The rider could have been injured and stranded with a damaged bike in the howling wind and rain if the truck driver had not helped.
Thai Manh said: "I was confused about what they were doing when I saw them from afar until I realised what was happening. The truck driver is so kind."
He added that the rider was able to cross the long bridge safely and retreated to a shop by the end of the road until the storm had passed.
Countries in Southeast Asia such as the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia and Malaysia are at the peak of their annual rainy season.
Heavy rains this month have caused floods and landslides in central Vietnam and western Cambodia, forcing tens of thousands of people from their homes.
In central Vietnam, at least 88 people have died and more than 53,000 families have been evacuated due to heavy rain causing severe floods and landslides.
