Knee-deep floods submerged roads in Nakhon Ratchasima, northeast Thailand, after heavy rain today (October 20).

Pedestrian Nattaya Nganiem recorded the scene as the torrents of water filled roads - even knocking over a row of motorcycles outside a shop.

Struggling motorists battled through the flooded road and one SUV car even needed to be carried in a truck. Dozens of motorcycles parked near the night market were also caught in the deluge.

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) said the country would experience wet weather over the coming days.

They said a low-pressure cell east of the Philippines had intensified into a Category Two tropical depression which would move towards Thailand.

Forecasters believe the depression will strengthen into a Category Three tropical storm before making landfall in the central region of Vietnam.

Rains are expected in Thailand in the central, north, northeast and the eastern regions.
