A very rare snake Malabar rock pit viper was rescued from the roadside and was left in deep jungle in Southern India
Nilgiri district has a forest cover for 60 percent. It is a home for animals and reptiles. Many rare snakes like King Cobra, Malabar rock pit snake are also seen here. But unfortunately they come out of the jungle area to the roads and get hit by the vehicles and die. Likewise a most venomous Malabar Rock pit snake was seen alongside the road and it was trying to cross the road. Public on seeing this informed the same to the fire and rescue team.
The fire and rescue team immediately rushed to the spot and rescued the Malabar rock pit viper and left it in the deep forest
