A small crowd of protesters rallied in Bangkok, Thailand on Wednesday (October 21) as anti-government protests continue in the southeast Asian nation.

The movement calling for democratic reforms has surged in recent weeks with rallies being held every day since last Tuesday (October 13). It has lead to regular clashes between protesters and police - with chemical-laced water being blasted at the crowds last Friday.

Dozens of protest organisers and leaders were arrested following the violent scenes. Two of the most prominent - Parit 'Penguin' Chiwarak and Panusaya 'Rung' Sithijirawattanakul - face multiple charges and have been denied bail.

Despite arrests and laws banning gatherings, protesters have continued to rally across the country.

Activists are calling for the resignation of the prime minister, constitutional changes and reform of the monarchy.
