Ever wondered where you can find Godzilla in Japan? Look no further than Oga, a rugged peninsula along the Sea of Japan.

The most distinctive feature of this coastline, "Godzilla Rock” or Gojira-iwa has become a popular tourist attraction and is shown in this cool footage from October 15.

"Godzilla Rock” is the result of volcanic activity about 30 million years ago which has weathered away to form its unique shape. The famous rock formation was then named in 1995 because of its striking similarity to the cinematic monster.

The most popular feature of this famous rock formation is the “mouth” which looks like Godzilla breathing fire when aligned with a cloudy sunset.

A famous Godzilla-look rock is located at Oga peninsula, Akita prefecture, Japan. According to the geo park's Website, Cape Shiosezaki is a flat area eroded by waves (a wave-cut terrace) that has protruded from the ocean somewhat. The lapilli tuff resulting from volcanic activity about 30 million years ago is here weathered away to form a unique shape. It is a beautiful geosite which some might call a natural art museum.
