Interview of The Head of Police in Indonesia during the anti-government demonstration in Jakarta
Demonstrations of students and workers representing the Indonesian people against the leadership of the Joko Widodo regime, efforts to revoke and reject the omnibus law are an agenda that continues to be voiced. On the other side, a combination of military security and the police guarded the 20th October 2020 demonstration by deploying 10000+ troops at the state palace so that there would be no rioting of destroying public facilities like the demonstration the previous day.
The man on the video is Nana Sujana, Head of Police in Indonesia. He said "As many as 2000 people gathered here for one year of Indonesian presidential rule (Joko Widodo). Thank God the action today is not as big as the action some time ago. So far 33 people were detained. Of course the army and the police officers escort this action and provide security. The number of people involved to ensure safety is over 10000 at some point. They protect the state palace, MPR, HI and the economy district. We can't let this action to be carried out and backed up by groups of people who aren't responsible. We also prepare reserves of around 5000 military and police officers".
