The Indian Coast Guard issued a thunderstorm weather warning for eastern India's West Bengal on October 22. The low-pressure area over the west-central Bay of Bengal is highly likely to intensify into depression within 24 hours.

A video witnesses the adverse weather warning message that the Indian Coast Guard aircraft is relaying. The authorities are warning the fishermen and merchants about the weather condition. They also request them to retreat to their jetties, given a storm is on its way.

The depression is most likely to affect the coasts of West Bengal and Odisha. The Indian Coast Guard is making maximum efforts to prevent any casualties that may befall them.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rains in West Bengal over the next few days. National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) has swung into action and has deployed three teams to West Bengal.

According to IMD, coastal districts of West Bengal are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall between October 22 and October 23 with the wind speed reaching at least 40 kmph (24 mph).

Authorities have also advised fishing boats to not venture into the sea for the foreseeable few days, while those at sea were asked to return to coast before October 22.
