Bobi Wine vows to overthrow Museveni
The dismissal of the case against the transmission of the National Unity and Reconciliation and Development Party (NURP) into National Unity Platform (NUP) party has caused excitement from Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu a.k.a Bobi Wine and his supporters.
Two founders of NURP Difas Basile and Hassan Twala claimed that Moses Nkonge Kibalama, the founding president of the party changed its name and transferred its leadership to Bobi Wine without their knowledge and consent.
Civil Court deputy head Musa Ssekaana, Wednesday dismissed the case on grounds that it was filed out time in which courts can entertain judicial review matters.
Ssekaana ruled that judicial review matters can only be entertained within three months after a happening leading to cause of action.
Since the judgment was delivered via email address to the concerned parties as a precautionary measure against COVID-19 Pandemic, hundreds of NUP supporters and journalists camped at the party's Kamwokya based offices as early as 9:00 am.
They anxiously waited until around 11:40 am when the verdict was dropped on emails of NUP lawyers led by Medard Lubega Sseggona.
Sseggona punched the air and was joined by Bobi Wine and the team in celebrations.
They started singing Bobi Wine's famous song ‘Tuliyambala Engule' which means that we shall wear the crown for about ten minutes.
