Police in the Greek city of Thessaloniki on Friday (October 23rd) enforced coronavirus rules by clearing groups of revellers from squares.

According to eyewitnesses, hundreds of people met up to drink in the city centre in defiance of measures aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19.

Police arrived on motorbikes and used loudspeakers to urge the groups to move on.

For another night, police in Thessaloniki Greece was called to empty squares and streets by groups of young people having fun in crowded conditions.
Completely disobeying any instructions from experts on the dangers of spreading the pandemic, hundreds of people gathered on Friday night at squares in the city center, to drink alcohol and have fun with their friends. Police messages through loudspeakers on patrol vehicles could be heard urging the young people to leave "For precautionary reasons of public health overcrowding is not allowed, please comply and leave the area". The intervention forced most of the groups to stop their fun and return home.
