A snake perhaps felt a connection with coiled hose pipes and took refuge inside a garden hose reel at a home in Bhubaneswar in eastern India on October 23.

The gardener, who didn't appreciate the guest, called Snake Helpline whose founder Subhendu Mallik went to the spot.

As the snake could not be spotted easily, he asked the gardener to unreel the pipes.

After the pipe was pulled for nearly 100 feet, the snake surfaced. A two-feet long non-venomous juvenile rat snake leapt off the hose reel and started fleeing. It was captured and later released in a suitable natural habitat .

"The small snake emerging out of the uncoiling pipes was funny and made us laugh," said Subhendu.
