Members of the EFF (Economic Freedom Fighters), South Africa’s third largest political party, protested outside the homes of two elderly Bo Kaap men who have been accused of allegedly sexually molesting young girls and women over decades.

The allegations came to light this week after a video clip posted on social media by one’s granddaughter went viral. In the video she accuses her grandfather and his twin bother, who were both high school principals, of having molested women and children over decades. She claims she herself was molested by her grandfather.

The EFF visited both their homes, in Bloem Street in Bo Kaap, and demanded the men come out and receive a memorandum demanding they leave the suburb immediately.

Wandile Kasibe from the EFF in the Western Cape, said the party would not keep quiet about sexual abuse in communities and called on community members to join them in the struggle against gender based violence.
