Animal Rescue Society officials in Maharashtra, India, were forced to break part of a wall to rescue a 20-foot-long python that became trapped.

An adult python tried to enter a home in Ahmednagar through a drainage pipe and got badly trapped on October 5.

Akash Jadhav and his team noticed that the massive python had managed to put its upper limb through the pipe but its bulkier stomach area was unable to pass through.

Footage shows a local resident breaking the wall around the pipe to widen the hole around the python, which then slithers out.

Jadhav said: "The python was aggressive and kept swiping at us. We made sure it did not suffer any injuries during the rescue."

The reptile was later released in the wild.
