This is the terrifying moment a spare wheel came loose from a pickup truck - smashing into a car travelling behind.

The wheel was dropped out of the overloaded vehicle while driving on a highway in Nakhon Sawan, northern Thailand, on October 21.

Dashcam footage shows how it wobbled along the road, leaving little time for the car behind to move out of the way.

They crashed straight into the black tire, causing extensive damage to their front bumper.

The driver, Yaguza, said: ''The driver in front did not stop and we weren't able to chase after them. Our car was damaged to we had to park and check what had happened.

Footage shows how the pickup truck was carrying a large cargo stacked onto the back of the vehicle. The flap was down and obscuring the number plate.

Yaguza is now trying to trace the driver to ask them to pay the repair bill for his car.

He added: ''They should have kept the spare wheel more secure. The accident could have been much worse. But I still want to find them and request they pay for the damage.''
