Heartwarming footage shows children enjoying the simplicity of childhood as they splash around together in a small canal after a rainstorm in the Philippines.

The youngsters were enjoying the clear and clean water the gushed through the concrete overflow drains after heavy rain in Rizal province.

Footage shows cyclist amazed to see kids swimming in the clear canal along the side road.

Passerby Rougue Avillano was on a motorcycle road trip when he noticed the kids happily bathing in the ditch.

He said: "I was completely surprised that there was a canal like that. They looked like they were having such a good time, I even considered joining them myself.''

The Philippines is currently being battered by Typhoon Molave. The weather state bureau said the typhoon is expected to exit the country tomorrow (October 27).
