Smoke from the Silverado Fire blanketed skies in Portola Hills, California on Monday (October 26).

More than 98,000 residents were forced to flee the two new wildfires that had spread across Orange County. Strong winds and dry, hot weather further inflamed the blaze.

The state fire agency reported more than 7,200 acres had been consumed by the blaze as of October 26.

Around 5,000 firefighters are currently working to contain the wildfire. Officials said that two people were badly injured with second and third-degree burns.
