Footage shows a man being wheeled away from the scene on a stretcher following the rampage in which three people were killed.

The knifeman stormed into the Notre Dame church in Nice, France, on Thursday morning (October 29) while reportedly screaming "Allahu Akbar."

Video taken from an apartment opposite the religious building shows officers entering the building.

The filmer said the attack ''started outside at a snack bar'' and then ''continued in the church''.

French media and police said the knifeman killed three people and wounded several others at the church.

Mayor Christian Estrosi said the knife attack had happened in or near the city’s Notre Dame church and that police had detained the attacker.
