This was the stunning moment two zebras went into battle during golden hour at the watering hole in Kruger National Park on October 28.

The clip shows the two male zebras kicking up dust while tussling over territory in amongst the rest of the herd.

Wildlife enthusiast Edrich said: "I saw the heads of two zebra popping up from behind the buffalo. I quickly realized that they were two males locked in battle. I grabbed my camera and started rolling.
Normally one will see this behaviour among young male zebras with the altercations normally not lasting long.

"On this occasion, it looked like the serious combat that was not going to stop any time soon. At first, the battle consisted of jostling and neck-wrestling in an attempt of getting hold of the opponent’s ear or mane. At stages one male zebra would break away, only to be chased down by his opponent.

"More aggressive tactics followed with the combatants seeking a grip on the hindleg, dropping to the ground and circling on their knees, followed by the lashing out with back feet, the most dangerous form of combat. During the whole battle, the beautiful golden light of the early morning coupled with the dust clouds caused by the fight added an amazing dramatic effect to the whole spectacle."
