This is the terrifying moment a roof is ripped off a building in Quang Ngai, central Vietnam by Typhoon Molave on Wednesday (October 28).

The death toll is reported to be 45 people with dozens more missing feared dead across Vietnam and the Philippines.

Hundreds of thousands of people have been evacuated across the two countries with the extreme weather leaving a trail of damaged homes, fallen trees, landslides and severe flooding.

Typhoon Molave, also known as Quinta, made landfall in the Philippines earlier this week before smashing into central Vietnam and moving into Laos and Thailand.

While storms are expected in the rainy season from June to November, this year Vietnam has been battered with a more, and more severe, storms than usual.
