Taxi drivers blocked roads along Via Laietana in Barcelona, Spain, demanding financial aid to assist the covid-affected sector.

The struggling cabbies are demanding help from the government amid the economic downturn from the pandemic in the city, which had previously had high numbers of tourists.

After the surge in the number cases, the government imposed strict curfews to curb the virus. The measure had triggered violent demonstrations across Europe.

In Italy, protests erupted across the country with several luxury boutique stores were reportedly ransacked by demonstrators.

According to the World Health Organization data, Spain has had 1,136,503 confirmed cases along with 35,466 death. There were 9,303 new cases as of October 29.
