In a forest a few miles north of the Porjus in northern Sweden a photographer caught an intensely bright and animated aurora on October 23.

Footage captured from around 10 pm local time shows the phenomenon of the green streaks lighting up the sky and silhouetting the foliage in the foreground.

The filmer said: "[The] aurora was invisible first but the sky was clear so I started shooting timelapse video and then suddenly the aurora exploded."

on roadtrip from Switzerland to northern Scandinavia to see the northern lights. Chose to travel to Sweden because there is no quarantine in Sweden which makes it possible to move every day for clear skies. Took 4 days to drive from SW Switzerland to northern Sweden, then found clear skies and saw northern lights every night despite challenging weather, playing with weather forecast between Sweden and Norway .
