An aggressive gecko was rescued after it was caught rampaging through a police station.

Reptile specialists rushed to the police station after receiving calls pleading for help to snare the wild lizard in Chanthaburi, central Thailand.

The skilful handlers, wearing gloves and overalls, spent only 10 minutes evacuating the reptile.

They joked that the animal was still fierce even after being held on a man's palm.

One of the team, Khun Nut, said: "I'm so glad that I helped the police catch this little intruder."

The reptile was later released back into the woods.
