Flash floods batter homes in northeast Thailand
Muddy flash floods caused by heavy rain ripped through properties and farms in Nakhon Ratchasima, northeast Thailand on Monday (November 2).
At least 20 homes were engulfed in the 3ft deep water as rescuers battled the knee-deep deluge to evacuate the locals.
Traffic lanes and local businesses were submerged under the torrents of thick muddy water that was led by the heavy downpours during the weekend.
Motorists were prevented from passing through the village main roads as the great floods have overflowed from the river nearby the district.
The official said the situation will be eased in the next few days if the rainstorms last in three days.
Thailand rainy season lasts from the end of June until November. There are regular thunderstorms and heavy downpours leading to floods as the country's undeveloped infrastructure struggles to cope.
