A father and daughter miraculously walked out of a car unscathed after an electricity post and cables fell on top of them while driving on the highway.

Anuchat Boonmak was travelling with his 10-year-old daughter when the huge concrete structure plunged onto their car in Songkhla province, southern Thailand on November 1.

The high voltage cables were dragged down by a tall trailer truck driving in front of them. It pulled the power lines across the highway before the electric pole collapsed behind and the driver fled the scene.

The bonnet, windscreen, roof, and other parts of the sedan were crushed and shards of broken glass were scattered on the road.

Onlooker Nappadon Thipwareem called the emergency services for assistance before rushing to the wreckage.

He said: "I was shocked and ran to the car to see if the driver and his passenger survived. I was glad that they were still alive."

The resident carefully removed the wrecked car door and helped the father out of the vehicle. They then pulled the girl from the passenger's seat.

When the paramedics arrived, they checked the father and daughter for injuries before rushing them to the hospital.

However, the two were allowed to leave the hospital after a few hours because they were not seriously injured.

Songkhla police station officers also arrived to investigate the scene. They said they are now looking for the truck driver so they can question him about the incident and press charges against him.
