Puppy rescued after being abandoned during typhoon in the Philippines
This is the heartwarming moment a tuk-tuk driver rescued a puppy left on the street during Typhoon Saudel in the Philippines.
Quel Tulipas found the puppy on his way home while there was a heavy downpour in Rizal province, the Philippines on October 22.
The weary puppy was soaked in the rain and stood beside the concrete fence without shelter from the typhoon.
The kind driver stopped his vehicle and ran towards the puppy to pick it up and bring it home.
He wrapped the puppy, estimated to be two-weeks-old, in a towel and gave it some food and water before inspecting it for injuries.
Quel said he was heartbroken after finding several cigarette burns across its body and rotting wounds with worms.
He said: "I couldn't just leave the poor thing there with the storm so I picked it up, but I was saddened when I saw the wounds on its body."
He cleaned the puppy's wounds which eventually dried up and later named "Rain." It was adopted by one of his friends after a few days.
