Police officers save Asian black bear caught in hunting trap in southern China
Police officers in southern China rescued an Asian black bear caught in a hunting trap.
The video, filmed in the city of Bazhong in Sichuan Province on October 28, shows a black bear struggling to free its front paw from a hunting set in a forest.
In another clip, shot on October 30, an animal anesthesiologist arrived to narcotise the black bear first before removing the hunting set from its paw and treating the wounds.
According to reports, the 32.5 kilogram and 77-centimetre-long black bear is protected by China's National Protection Wildlife Law. Since it was not injured seriously, rescuers released it back to nature after it was revived.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
