A wildlife photographer excitedly captures the pair of red kites battle for dominance mid-air over Alcala de Henares, Spain, on November 2.

According to the filmer, the birds of prey were gathered near a small landfill site that attracts rats and small animals.

"The birds gathered around the site and began to circle each other. They split off into pairs and begin to duel mid-air at approximately 40ft. Their attacks consist of dive bombings each other with their razor-sharp talons," he said.

"The birds never made contact with each other but put on a spectacular show which was an incredible sight to witness. Red Kites call the majority of the world their home so, if you go for a walk anywhere that is wild enough, you are more than likely to experience this sight for yourself."
