TV presenter and advertising personality Katlego Maboe appeared at court over allegations he breached a domestic violence protection order.

The order had earlier been granted to his ex-partner, Monique Muller.

Recently Maboe gained notoriety after Monique Muller, his ex-partner and the mother of his child, released a video of him apparently confessing to having had an affair with a former Outsurance employee. In the video Muller also alleges Maboe had infected her with a sexually transmitted disease.

Mr Maboe was a presenter on South African morning TV show Expresso and face of the Outsurance insurance company. But after the video went viral on social media, the TV show put him on special leave and Outsurance stopped all ads in which he appeared.

Despite appearing at the Cape Town Magistrate's Court, Maboe ended up not appearing before a magistrate as the police docket was not brought to court.

The National Prosecuting Authority said that no date had been set for Maboe's next appearance.
