Not-so rush hour: Lockdown London turns into a ghost town
London became a ghost town during its normally notorious rush hour, on the first day of England's lockdown on Thursday (November 5).
Piccadilly Circus, normally streaming with commuters, was silent, while the Prince Charles Cinema had a funny sign saying 'intermission'.
Shopper's paradise Oxford Street, was also deserted.
The emptiness was later turned into confrontation between police and anti-lockdown and Anonymous 'hacktivist' group protesters, during protests against the new restrictions.
