A massive rescue operation is underway in the Madhya Pradesh area of Niwari after a three-year-old boy was trapped in a 200-foot-deep well for over 48 hours.

Footage from November 4 shows the operation involving most branches of India's emergency services as heavy machinery is used to move earth that leads to the boy in the well.

According to local reports, the toddler named Prahlad ventured onto his father's land and fell into the borewell after playing close by and was lodged 65 feet down.

The Army, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and other local authorities banded together to organise the retrieval of Prahlad, while villagers pray for his rescue.
