There have been violent clashes between protesters and police at an anti-lockdown protest in Thessaloniki, Greece.

Hundreds of people ignored a ban on public gatherings to protest against the latest coronavirus lockdown measures on Friday (November 6).

Demonstrators hurled rocks and paint bombs at police, who responded with stun grenades and tear gas.

Earlier the crowd chanted anti-government slogans and accused authorities of treason. Many of them are facing economic problems and unemployment because of the lockdown.

The city is Greece's second largest, after Athens.
