Catastrophic flash flooding is continuing to claim lives and wash away homes in central Vietnam.

This clip, filmed yesterday (November 7th), shows a village in Quang Nam shortly after the floodwaters hit washing away 20 homes completely, destroying many others and leaving at least 10 people missing.

According to the filmer, residents saw the floodwaters approaching a most were able to run away.

When they returned, as the video shows, they found their homes either collapsed or filled with mud and debris.

Tens of thousands of people have been displaced by the flooding which has been compounded by a series of huge storms hitting the region.

According to villagers, the flash flood suddenly appeared, causing them to run away only when they saw water pouring down from above the mountain.
Water flooded the village and swept away 20 houses and inundated dozens more. The water was so strong that an area was flattened in the back of the village. More than 10 people have been lost due to flash floods.Rescuers are trying to find the missing people.
After the water receded, people returned and they saw the house with all its belongings washed away. This is the most terrible flood they have ever witnessed.
Heavy rains for one month continuously put the central region of Vietnam on flood alert. In turn, Typhoons Goni and Astani landed in the area with heavy rain, making the situation worse. Many areas have been severely damaged by the floods. More than 10 provinces of Vietnam have been affected by floods and typhoons.
