Indian boy who fell down well found dead after 4 days of rescue efforts
A four-year-old boy has lost his life after falling into a 200-foot-deep well in India's Madhya Pradesh on November 4.
Footage shows the aftermath of the herculean 90-hour rescue effort as the child's body is finally retrieved.
The toddler identified as Prahlad had fallen into a borewell - which was recently dug by his father - while playing in the nearby area.
The joint rescue operation with at least 80 workers was organised by local authorities, the army and State Disaster Response Fund.
After rescue teams managed to recover Prahlad's body, they rush him to a local hospital where he was declared dead.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed his sadness over the boy’s death and announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh (USD $6,771) for his family.
The Chief Minister has urged people to keep the borewells covered in order to avoid such tragedies.
