13-foot-long king cobra captured outside primary school in east India

A huge 13-foot-long king cobra was captured outside Chandiput Higher Primary School in the town of Paralakhemundi, Odisha.

According to local sources, the venomous snake had been lurking in a drain located in front of the school for two days. Locals who found the king cobra then called the Snake Helpline.

On the evening of November 8, members of the Berhampur team arrived to rescue the king cobra.

Footage shows the Berhampur team working to capture the humongous reptile as a group of animated bystanders looks on.

After the half-hour-long rescue, the king cobra was safely released back into the wild.
