Climate activists Extinction Rebellion have staged a protest at the Cenotaph war memorial in central London's Westminster, unveiling a climate change wreath on the day an official Armistice Day ceremony took place.

Video filmed on Wednesday - Remembrance Day - shows a wreath stating, "Act now."

A controversial Extinction Rebellion wreath with the slogan "Act Now" as "Climate Change Means War" was returned to the Cenotaph on Whitehall by police on Wednesday afternoon, following the early morning upset on Armistice Day, when the wreath had been removed by police following criticism by Boris Johnson and The Royal British Legion. Earlier in the day, at 8am, Extinction Rebellion staged a climate protest at the Cenotaph with a banner reading: "Honour their sacrifice - climate change means war", when the poppy wreath was laid by participants to be taken away by police within half an hour. This morning's eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month marked exactly 100 years since King George V unveiled the Cenotaph on Whitehall.
