This is the shocking moment a motorcycle rider and his pillion passenger crashed into a car that was making a turn in the road.

CCTV footage shows the silver vehicle switching lanes by making a u-turn when the rider smashed into it in Laguna province, the Philippines on October 28.

Traffic officials at a checkpoint tent nearby were seen assisting the motorists and directing cars that started to build up when the wreckage blocked an entire lane.

Neither were seriously injured from the incident but they were taken to the hospital to treat light scratches and bruises.

The car’s bumper and the motorcycle’s headlight were also damaged from the impact.

Kalayaan Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRMO) operations head Turiano Samala Montes said the two parties settled at the police station after receiving treatment at the hospital.

He said: ''They agreed to let go of the incident instead of filing a case against each other.''
