This is the amusing moment a pet python rode a cleaning robot around the house.

The two-year-old snake named 'Nong' was perched on the device as it glided over the tiles in Chiang Mai province, northern Thailand, on November 8.

Footage recorded by owner Sumongkol Somboordee shows the yellow Enchi Butter ball python looking satisfyingly at the freshly-cleaned floor.

The cleaning robot then bumped on the foot of its owner before the snake looked up with a curious expression.

Sumongkol said his snake had always been curious and likes to explore household objects.

He said: "I am always surprised at what my pet snake likes to do. He climbed onto the robot cleaner so I let him go for a spin. He looked like he was enjoying it.''

Ball pythons are among the most popular pet snakes because they are docile and easy to care for.
