This was the moment a family of baby raccoons were rescued from the roof of a Toronto home on May 5 and reunited with their mother.

Footage shows the humane removal of the mother raccoon and her babies from behind the foam insulation of the roof.

The bunch of baby raccoons was eventually reunited with their mother outside the home, with no harm done.

A member of the rescue team explained: "Gates Wildlife Field Supervisor Joel performed a removal of a mother raccoon and her babies. He was able to successfully reunite her with one of her babies while on site.

"Over the past seven months, we have taken our role as an essential service very seriously. Having wildlife living inside your attic can be very stressful for homeowners, especially when you are working and living from home. We are honoured to continue helping homeowners and relieve some of the stress that comes along with other worries during this unpredictable time."
