Magnificent fungi can be spotted during late summer to late autumn until the first frosts arrive and come in a variety of shapes, colours and sizes.

Here let's take a look at some found at Richmond Park in South West London where it is estimated over 400 different types of fungi are found here.

The visible part - the mushroom or toadstool we see above ground is the fruiting body that produces spores enabling the fungi to reproduce. Neither plant nor animal this organism in its many forms is a peculiar sight.
