Man pulls out weapon during protest outside school accused of racism

On 6 November a man is seen pulling a weapon during a protest of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) outside Brackenfell High School when the party protested the exclusion of black students from a high school matric ball allegedly arranged by parents but also attended by some teachers. The man says "ek sal you bliksem" in Afrikaans, which loosely translated means "I will beat you". The man is filmed taking a weapon or device of some kind from his pocket and then putting it back.

On Monday 9 November the a mob purporting to be concerned parents engaged in an unprovoked attack on EFF party members who returned to picket at the school and meet with the principal.

The footage of the attack on Monday went viral on both social and mainstream media with the Sun newspaper even labelling the attackers as "white thugs".
