Footage shows strong waves caused by Hurricane Iota battering the coast of Corn Islands, in Nicaragua on November 17. The category 4 storm remains critical despite slowing down after moving across the region, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Iota's wind speed dropped to 65 miles per hours and weakened to a tropical depression by Tuesday evening. However, it left behind severe flooding.

More than three people were reported dead after hurricane Iota battered the region. Hurricane Eta had earlier caused severe destruction, killing more than 182 people and left 116 missing across Central America.
